Gunpowder was made by accident by Chinese alchemists were trying to find the elixir of life. They discovered it when they mixed sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate. The Chinese started to use gunpowder for weapons, in document 5 it says, “New weapons were rapidly developed, including rockets and others that were launched from a bamboo tube,” showing that China quickly developed weapons using the gunpowder that made them stronger. The idea of
the guns and gunpowder quickly spread to places like Europe, and soon became a very important weapon. Today every army has adopted guns and gunpowder to use as weapons. Many guns were produced and upgraded. We use many different types of guns, machine guns, pistols, assault rifles, and shotguns. Chinese gunpowder has made all this happen, and without it, our armies will still be fighting with swords, spears, and shields.
As you can see, gunpowder is the Chinese invention that has impacted the world the most. This is because it made many weapons and fireworks. All of these things the Chinese made with gunpowder had influenced us greatly from the way we hunt, the way our army fights, and our everyday lives. Thanks to the Chinese making gunpowder, we have advanced so many ways with it.
