How Did Disney Make The Little Mermaid
With the release of The Little Mermaid, a new era of Disney was born: The Disney Renaissance. Disney wanted to make more musicals and they wanted to rewrite the old classics and “Disnify” them.

Ten films were made in between 1989 and 1999. Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid were the most popular. The other titles in order of popularity are as follows: Tarzan, Mulan, Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Rescuers Down Under, and Pocahontas.

Disney had been wanting to produce The Little Mermaid since the 1930s. After the success of Roger Rabbit, Disney decided to go for it. It was released in 1989. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken started their careers on The Little Mermaid. It won two Academy Awards, for

    Later on they were blessed with two daughters, Diane and Sharon . Three years after Walt and Lilly wedding, Walt created the famous cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. Walt’s talents were first seen in a silent cartoon named Plane Crazy. Before the cartoon could be released, sound was introduced to the motion picture industry. Mickey Mouse made his screen debut in Steamboat Willie, the world's first synchronized sound cartoon, which premiered at the Colony Theater in New York on November 18, 1928 (Walt Disney, Biography). On December 21, 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated musical feature, premiered at the Carthay Theater in Los Angeles. After five years, Walt Disney Studios completed another full-length animated classics such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi(Walt Disney, Biography). In 1940, construction was finally completed on the Burbank Studio, and Disney's staff swelled to more than 1,000 artists, animators, story men, and technicians.
