They built buildings and palaces without metal tools and they were good farmers. Many believed Kukulcan was the founder of the Mayan Civilization(crystalinks).
Most Mayan art was created during the Classical Period, which lasted from 300-900 B.C. They built pyramids and statues to honor their gods. During that time, the Mayans developed a complex society. The Toltec was another early civilization that helped influence Mexico’s cultural history. Many people predicted that the Toltec came to be around the 10th century. The Toltec built the city of Tula, which was the population of around 40,000. Many believed that the Toltec offered human sacrifices to make the gods happy(history). The Aztecs were one of the last known cultures in early Mexico. The origin of the Aztecs is unknown, but historians believed they were hunters and gatherers. One of the biggest cities in the Aztec Empire was Tenochtitlan, and they had around 5,000,000 people over 80,000 square miles. The Aztecs had a lot of gods, but some of those gods include the god of war; Huitzilopochtli, the god of the sun; Tlaloc, and the god of the rain; Quetzalcoatl. The Aztec Empire came to an end when the Spanish captured the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan in 1521(britannica).
Mexico’s traditions and cultures have greatly changed since the early civilizations. Mexico now has a lot of problems and issues that they cannot fix them all. They have problems like drugs, immigration, trafficking, and poverty. Despite those issues, Mexico is a great place to tour. Many of the early civilization temples and buildings are still standing, but slowly they are going away. Social and environmental has caused this like air pollution and crime(history). Mexico is a place full of history from the earliest civilization to present day.
