Giorgio Vasari was born into a fairly wealthy family of the time.(Britannica) On July 30th 1511 in Arezzo, Italy, Giorgio Vasari was given life by Antonio Vasari and Maddelena Tacci. The family was rich enough to send Vasari to Florence at the age of thirteen. (Art History) He was sent there to study at workshops of well-known artists. (Art History) Being sent here granted him a chance to become a potentially great artist and Toby have a chance to meet other well-known and famous artists of his time. In 1550 Giorgio christened the Renaissance as the ‘rebirth’ by using rinascita to describe the return to the ancient Roman manner of painting Giotto D.
