"For ye shall hear, how our Heaven-King calleth everyman to a general reckoning.”(Doc.B) During the Middle ages everything was based off what the church said was right and wrong, and that is evident in this quote of how the church brainwashed and controlled everyone in the middle ages. Excerpt from Hamlet by William Shakespeare in 1601, compares man to an angel/God.(Doc.B) During the Renaissance period, man became more appreciative of the human race, and had more positive outlooks.
• Art during the middle ages was more of a broken hobby, but it evolved into a way of life formany during the Renaissance.
Art made during the Renaissance "echoes broader movements and interests of the new age". (Doc.A) This quote highlights how inevitably important art became for people of the Renaissance and how it embodied “the new age” of the world. “The Renaissance brought the emotions of the people back”. (Doc.A) The Renaissance made people feel again, gave the people hope.
• Science evolved from the middle ages to the Renaissance dramatically, more knowledge was acquired so the results were more refined. “It shows how they had very little scientific information” (Doc.C). The people of the middle ages believed that human body was controlled by the zodiacs due too little anatomy knowledge. “This is compared to Giorgio Vasari’s depiction of the human body”(Doc.C). The evolution of science even reaches to the expansion of knowledge and how the lack of it resulted in a simple model (geocentric) and evolved into the more detailed model (heliocentric) through the
Renaissance.
• The Renaissance changed man’s view of life through Art, Literature, Science, and other factors. "The paragon of animals". Paragon means perfect model. (Doc.A) During the Renaissance, man became more appreciative of the surrounding existing life, giving people a more positive outlook on life, and killing the middle age mood of depression. Meaning they use the Renaissance as a figure of speech to describe a fresh start”. (Doc.B) The Renaissance was ultimately the saving grace for all of the people, the sun seemed to shine brighter, people seemed happier, smiles were abundant, the Renaissance changed Mans view to hopeful.
