The Renaissance spread up north because people would start to migrate all around Europe and brought their ideas and way of life. Another reason it spread north was simply because of trading and the merchants sharing stories and news from Italy which inspired people to start as well. One of those reasons being that every Protestant church came from that era, This is very important to a lot of people and most likely happened because people started to become more educated and were able to make their own theories. However, people were still afraid of going up against the church and I would think that Martin Luther doing what he did started a ripple effect and after that tons of different Protestant denominations started popping up all over Europe and the Catholic church was losing power by the hour. Benefits of this is that it let people follow what they believe and helped lower corruption in the Catholic church, and if it weren’t for Protestants the U.S wouldn't be what is is
