But, how could this be done? Well, Germans would need more land to gain more resources and Hitler would do exactly that. As told by Tom Goldstein, Hitler’s involvement in the Spanish Civil War had been a part of his covert plan for eastern expansion. This shows that Hitler would put in time and effort to help out the country, and it would work out for both Hitler and one of his home countries, Germany. Germany would later on gain the raw materials needed for eastern expansion. But that was not the only thing that Hitler would do for German expansion. Through terms of appeasement with Britain, Hitler would be allowed to annex the Sudetenland. This piece of Czechoslovakia was very important to Germany because by reclaiming it they would have more land to re militarize, reversing one of the effects of the Treaty of Versailles. It was a key piece of land because it held many weapons which would be useful for Hitler’s plans of world domination. But wait, there’s more! Hitler had also annexed Austria his other home country, this was known as the Anschluss. With the Anschluss, Hitler was able to unify both of his home countries, while keeping everyone content, including Austria. But, all his followers did not magically come to his side. Hitler had gone to many beer halls, adjusted his attitude and plans, and spoke the right words to the right people. When Hitler had been attending the beer halls he was gathering followers through his vocal propaganda. According to John D. Clare, Hitler’s attempt of taking power over Munich at the Beer Hall Putsch was a failure.( Clare, 2002) Although Hitler was unsuccessful, he did try and kept attending beer halls to get more people to support him.
