Newton’s Three Laws of Motion and the Law of Conservation of Momentum were two major discoveries that Isaac Newton was able to make in physics through his own discoveries and the works of others. Isaac was able to publish the book entitled Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which described his works. Isaac’s first discoveries in gravity came when an apple from an apple tree dropped on his head. This showed Isaac that the gravitational force of an object varies depending on how far it is away from Earth. Newton’s law of universal gravitation is another discovery, he made through his theory of gravitation and the Kepler’s laws of planetary motion. In the area of mathematics, Isaac Newton invented the generalized binomial theorem and started working on a theory later known as the infinitesimal calculus. Isaac was the first person to successfully use the power series in the polynomial theory and also created a new formula to calculate Pi. In the area of optics, Isaac was able to make a prism that separates light into the colors of the rainbow and a different prism that recombines the light. In 1700, Isaac became the Master of the Mint. He left Cambridge to go to London to fulfill this duty. His scientific discovery work ended when he was appointed to this task. Isaac’s new role was to go to taverns in disguise and gather evidence against counterfeiters. He was later elected President of the Royal Society in 1703, then knighted Sir Isaac Newton in 1705.
