In London an area that is as scary as it is mysterious and dangerous is the Whitechaple/Spittalfields area of East London. It has been a place of soldiers, prostitutes, brawls and bawdy houses. In 1888 it became the area of some of the most brutal murders ever heard of. The murderer being the notorious Jack the Ripper. At this time 5 women were brutally murdered. All of them were prostitutes living in this poverty stricken area. Unfortunately the murders were never solved and the identity of Jack was never discovered and the reign of terror ended abruptly in November 1888. Today tourists who go to London’s East End can walk the path of this murderer. There are many restless spirits haunting the streets here
such as some of Jack’s victims in various stages of mutilation, a ghostly band of Roman soldiers, a murderous sea captain who haunts a local pub and a mysterious black carriage which is drawn by ghastly white horses, it appears without a sound and disappears right before people’s eyes.
So if you are into the strange and mysterious here are just some of the places you could visit. Who knows who or what you might meet. Perhaps you can discover an entirely different world, only remember how to return to this one.
