Nationalism in France would end up bringing democracy. When Louis Napoleon came into France he was elected and then named himself emperor. In attempts to make his country better he made reforms such as all male suffrage and a better education system. Napoleon tried to make his country better so that the citizens could feel pride, and feel a sense of nationalism. He improved pairs as a city by making wider roads, and having better buildings. Even though his sense of pride for his nation led to great reforms, in the end he was captured during War. This would lead to the Paris of Commune coming in and trying to rule, yet the national assembly took them down and instead installed the third republic. With chancellor Otto Bismark, Germany went through a wars that would help bring the people together and make them have pride in their nation. The Austria-Prussian war was between Prussia and Austria over the lands of Holstein, Prussia was able to defeat Austria which meant they had a better military as well as more land. Bismark knew that threw wars, Germany would come together as a nation. The other war that helped unify Prussia was the Franco-Prussian war where Prussia defeated France and took their lands of ALcraine and lorraine.
