As he grew older, he attended the Technical University …show more content…
He also experimented with x-rays and short range radio communication before Guglielmo Marconi did. In other words, Marconi just picked up where Tesla left off. And as an extra, he discovered the rotating magnetic field; which was the basis for AC machines.
Tesla invented many things and contributed to life immensely. I'm quickly going to go to the present and explain why. Today we have a company known as Tesla Motors (established in 2003), which was purposely named after Nikola Tesla himself. The car today is known as the Tesla Roadster. It uses an AC motor that comes from the original one Nikola Tesla made in 1882. Which made this amazing electric sports car more efficient in its electricity usage and shows how Tesla still contributes to everyday lives.
The Tesla coil as I mentioned earlier, was invented in 1891 by Nikola. Today we mostly use it in our radios, TV sets, and other electronics. And as for trivia, that year was also when he gained his U.S. citizenship. He’s made many discoveries but his most important were the AC motor and the Tesla …show more content…
They decided to team up with General Electric (a multinational corporation) to plant AC generators near Niagara Falls so that they could create the first hydroelectric power plant in 1895. When Tesla accomplished this, he was covered by the press about this achievement and it made everyone around the world praise Tesla as if he were a hero. And when Nikola of Montenegro heard this, he conferred upon him the Order of Danilo (which was an order of the Principality, and later Kingdom, of Montenegro). This is one example that shows how was contributing to the world and how his life was getting better until the horrible tragedy in 1895; his lab in New York was burned down. All the notes, equipment, and inventions in that lab were destroyed, leaving him with nothing from his lab. But it was not all that bad due to J.P. Morgan (his financier) helped Tesla gain money for his destroyed his equipment and decided to use those funds to build a worldwide communications network at a tower in Wardenclyffe (located on Long Island). But unfortunately, he wasn’t able to continue his project because the funds he earned had ran out and Morgan had to stop Tesla’s plan for a communications
