Feudalism was getting weaker; there was no one to work on the fields which caused a shortage and made prices go higher to where they weren't affordable. Peasants were getting paid worse than before, which later led to the Peasant Revolt. Many people paid the price for the uncleanliness of the entire country. This was not the only reason of course contributions were people who had the disease being in crowded events or when they passed away those who disposed ofthe did not wear protective gear. As stated in the article “The Black Death was to kill 1.5 million people out of an estimated 4 million”(C N Trueman). There are historians who believe that the Black Death may have spread differently. “Geneticists and modern historians were putting the rat in the position [of spreading the plague] and were straining bits of evidence” (Cohn,Samel). This medieval historian criticizes the theory of rats and flea carrying the disease. After running a virtual test looking at the statistics found that seven out of the nine cities the human parasite model closer fit records than the rat-flea model. This recent study proves that this event is still a hot priority to find out what really happened.
