Try to Imagine a Country dividing into two groups and fighting each other, sound fascinating, right? Well it happened to the United States in a war known as the Civil War when in 1861 seven southern states Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, and Georgia, all separated from the United states and formed the Confederacy of the United States to oppose the new promises that president Lincoln was going to give to the country. This event started conflict in the country and led to many battles between the South secession with the Union or the North
The Start of a blood bath
The North had control over the Fort Sumter Charleston bay, but the first shot came from the confederacy in April 12, 1861. Soon the South attacked the bay and made the North surrender the fort to the South. After this event four more states Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Arkansas joined the confederacy with the other border slave states, Missouri, Delaware, Kentucky, and Maryland aligned with the union.

But little did they know that destroying the confederacy was not that easy. Rose Greenhow a social leader delivered the message of the attack of Richmond to confederate forces. In July, Union forces marched from Washington to Richmond ready to confront the south at the creek called the Bull Run. Southern troops were already there at Manassas with Thomas Jackson.
