How Did The North And South Contribute To Civil War
A number of the underlying factors which lead to the Civil War in the United States had stemmed from the very creation of the country, specifically in the Constitution. While there was a desire by many of the Founding Fathers to prohibit slavery, and write those thoughts into the Constitution, this was not done. This allowed the issue to fester and eventually cause tension and resentment.
Both the North and South claimed to be representing the ideals of the American Revolution. The North said the principals of liberty and equality applied to all men, along with the principal of the permanent union of the states which Washington so clearly backed.
