How Did The Civil War Have An Impact On America During The Gilded Age

Starting in the 1870s lasting until the 1920s the United States experienced, The Gilded Age. This time period brought about many new advancements for millions of Americans nationwide. From the first spark of electricity in a home, to the modifications that made the assembly line what it is today. The men who ignited these advancements, made them accessible for the average American. These men founded universities and started car companies. Others are named after banks and historic landmarks. People say their names every day, but still never know how drastically they influenced America, during this time. The Gilded Age was named by Mark Twain in a novel he wrote in 1873. During this time, the United States had emerged in a time of great industrialization. The Civil War continued to have a lasting effect on the United States. It brought people great agony to see their country in shambles. Although, many Americans were trying to get their lives back in order, the country just was not the same. The country faced many problems that they were not even aware of. Problems such as; transportation was severely lacking, and the country did not have a strong form of energy to light the streets. The men who brought America out of its “Civil War slump”, have great influences modern America. Andrew Carnegie is just one example. Carnegie provided the

Although they never finished any of the projects they worked on, they still attempted to make a steam boat, a measuring system for a boiler, fixing and advancing clocks, and building a boat.
