How Did The Great War Start
The “Great War” but most known as the World War I it was the bloodiest war in history and it was worldwide. I will be talking about how the war started, how the U.S got involved in it, when it ended and how it ended, and what happened when it was over the treaty they made. The United States stayed neutral for three years because it was selling supplies to the countries that were at war. President Wilson also did not want to get involved in the war because he thought it was best for the United States to stay neutral. The plan that Wilson had was to trade and sail the Atlantic Oceans with supplies for the war. The United States was making a lot of profit from just selling supplies for the war. Then later on the United States got involved to the war because of the Lusitania it was shot and killed lots of people and Americans. The U-Boat was the one that shot the Lusitania down and it belonged to the Germans. On December 7, 1917 the U.S. declared war on Germany. …show more content…
Treaty of Versailles was signed by all the allies of Germany on June 28, 1919. Germany was the one that surrendered because they pretty much knew they could not win the war. President Woodrow Wilson listed five thing for the peace he ended the secret treaties between nations. The nations are free to sail any sea and ocean they wanted to in the world. The armies and navies had to decrease its size they had to get smaller. The League of Nations was made to keep peace and wars with nations. The boundaries were removed/changed so people with the same language and customs could move were they wanted to of where they are from. This was also known as the fourteen
