Jews and the Roman Empire
The Roman Empire grew as a large population within a long period of time. Actually, the Roman Empire was developing gradually, so that this way they would take control of more regions in the Mediterranean. The Romans conquered many territories including Judaea. Eventually, the Romans started expecting more from Christians. The Christians rebuffed to worship the Roman emperor and other gods too. Of course, Romans didn't liked this actions, since for them were an attack for their religion and way of ruling. The Romans prohibited Christianity and started executing some Christians. Even though the Romans tried to stop Christianity as a religion, it didn't work since many people were turning to Christianity. In A.D. 312 Constantine was going to a battle with his army, and he said he saw a cross in the sky. In the sky, he also saw the words, ”In this sign, conquer.“ He believed in what he saw and had faith in God. So, he placed all of the battle and army under the hands of God. After the huge success and victory, Constantine was officially a Christian. He supported Christianity throughout his empire and made the religion grow even more. Years later, Theodosius prohibited pagan worship. The Christians persecuted the pagans and also destroyed their temples. Christianity has spread and continued improving throughout the
