After the Russian Revolution had ended Lenin had quickly gained control of the city council of Saint Petersburg, which is the capital of Russia. Lenin had wanted to be able to have Russia thrive again because of production of industrialization had decreased, workers of great skill had left Russia to start up again in a new country, and trade was at a pause. Lenin had always used a form of Communism to control the state, but now with the economy the way it was, the NEP(New Economic Policy) had been a form of capitalism, but at a small account. The way this policy worked is that instead of giving the extra amount of crops grown, the peasants could be able to sell it instead. Small businesses, factories, and farms had been in charge of the actual owner. By the end of 1928 this policy had worked and the recovering of the country had increased in products, and eventually Russia had been in good status in their economy. In 1922, the USSR (Union of Social Soviet Republics) which had been created to glorify and show recognition toward the Bolshevik Revolution. In this same year, Lenin had gone through a stroke, and had died in 1924. The two people that had been fighting for power once Lenin is gone is Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky. Lenin had a feeling in his gut of Stalin being a threatening and deadly man.
