American was the last country to join the conflict and gained most profit from it. At first, the United State's government was divided into two camps. One side wanted to assist the Allies in their subjugation of the Nazis. The other side wanted to observe the situation and made profit from both factions. Hence, United State proposed neutrality to all factions in terms of military engagement. On the other hand, their conflict with Japan about the domination of sea-side countries in Asia reached severe level. However, the Japanese's sudden assault on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 forced the American to declare war on the Axis forces. This essay will focus on the reasons and events that led America to the global conflict.

On December 7, 1941, three hundred and fifty three “kamikaze” air planes from Japan bombarded the Pearl, and caused heavy damage to the US navy force. "Caught by the sudden attack, four battleships, three cruisers, three destroyers, one anti-aircraft training ship were destroyed along with one hundred and eighty eight air crafts. The United State sustained nearly 2500 deaths and more than 1000 were injured", according to Axelrod and Alan(2007). On the next day, Japan's allies, Germany and Italy declared war on
