For instance, in the Diary of Anne Frank, it reads, “You no doubt want to hear what I think of being in hiding. Well, all I can say is that I don’t really know yet. I don’t think I’ll ever feel at home in this house, but that doesn’t mean I hate it. It’s more like being on vacation in some strange pension”(Frank). Anne chose a more positive way of viewing her hiding and saw it more like a vacation instead of a type of imprisonment. This positive outlook allowed Anne to not hate her time in hiding and make the most of it. Further, Steve Jobs, in his graduation address to Stanford University said, “I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” Further, Steve Jobs was able to change his disappointment of being fired by finding the positive things that came from it.
