There are many different ways that the human species have impacted the biomes, such activities like Agriculture, Mining, Industry, Urbanisation and many more.
Agriculture impacts the water quality which can modify the nutrient cycle of water and earthly ecosystems. It also changes the land cover, which modifies hydrological and draining systems. Introducing of alien species of plants into the land and result in the overtaking of indigenous species.
Mining, results in the negative water quality which is caused by the heavy metals and acid drainage, which poisons fish in rivers and mammals that drink from rivers. Water quantity can be reduced because of the stream flow reduction from mining operations. The land scape is changed drastically from the activities caused by the mines. Excavations for extraction of minerals, rocks, waste rocks all modify the shape of the landscape. …show more content…
Industrial activities also use a significantly large amount of water, which can result in the reduction of stream flow. Industries also share a large part in the destruction of landscapes.
Urbanisation causes a massive change in the landscape, obviously because of the levelling of the ground which changes the shape of the landscape. The modification of drainage systems can result in less water available for biodiversity due to the introduction of impervious
