Most people are motivated by self-interest because it is a survival instinct embedded in our DNA, but we also have an innate calling and the desire to do something right. Most individuals do want to do good, but they are either hampered by lack of resources or lack of authority in decision making, thus demotivating them. But when a company sets a stanJohnd basic code of ethics it places an onus of the employees to adhere to it. It also protects employees from their direct superiors if they are being forced to do something unethical, the employees have a recourse as they refer to the company code of ethics.

We slowly realised that we had safety in number and it is in everyone benefit if work together and stay together, in which the strong help the weak and young shoulder the old. Ethical codes and behaviour is important because a good reputation can enhance business and attract investors, and unethical behaviour can make your company a pariah in the Society mind. We should sets standards for ourselves to do better each and every day not only for ourselves but for the greater good.
My reflections on the chapter.
Values are beliefs that develop over a period of time due to education and past life experiences and integration with society, it motivates our behaviour and actions in situations from which we determine our values. What one values drives his or her
