Throughout our lives we act, decide and behave in a specific way, but to what extent are our decisions influenced? Conformity also known as "social influence" is identified to be when a person changes his/her actions and beliefs due to the pressure of a group. Social influence is part of human life and is known to be present at all times. As a result, we often see how influential leaders can be in groups and society in general. Usually we do not think about all this when we ask why a person acts in one way or another? Normally people think they always make their own decision and that they don’t get swayed by others. In this paper I will discuss the influence of leadership and conformity.

A leader is known as one who has social influence within a group. A leader is an individual whose role is a key in a group whose influences is aimed at facilitating the achievement of the common goals. Without a group, there would be no leader, because one of the tasks of being a leader it is being able to persuade a group of people, one whom others want to follow.
Conformity (Social Influence) Conformity can be defined as social influence, individual changes their actions, behavior to accommodate the group. Normally, the person who comes into a group acquires the rules of the group through a process of socialization with attention receiving that person to say something, with imitation and is learning the rules of that group. Solomon Asch was one who studied social conformity. Asch conducted an experiment which concluded that people are more influenced by society than we think. This reveals a lack of self-esteem and confidence in ourselves, and attending more to what others think of us.
