American Pikas are just one animal being affected by global warming. American Pikas usually live in high mountains and are adapted to colder regions, but because of the overwhelming heat they need to move to colder altitudes. But because the are on the tops of mountains they have no place to go, which is causing them to die at an alarming rate.If the temperature even go up to 78 degrees fahrenheit the American Pikas could die. If they American Pikas keep dieing the could become extinct! Some things we can do to help American Pikas from dieing are instead of using our car to drive everywhere, we can ride our bikes for less pollution. One last thing we can do is plant more trees because the absorb CO2, which makes the Earth…
Air pollution from PowerPlanet power plants are melting ice caps which destroy arctic animal habitats, which in return is killing the arctic species. Ice caps are sheets of ice that make up polar and sub-polar regions. Now with rising temperatures in the poles the ice caps melt and break off from the main lands. This will keep pushing animals inland, shrinking their habitable zone. WIth the shrinking of arctic animals’ habitat it drives them together which is not good for smaller animals who are prey to dominant species like polar bears. Ice caps can also seclude animals. Instead of you being on the block of ice, suppose it was a cute little arctic fox…
Indigenous people of the artic and anarchic areas are already being affected. Although, the artic and anarchic environments are harsh, they have very fragile ecosystems. The native peoples have adapted a lifestyle relaying on weather and the migratory cycles of animals through generations of knowledge. The warmer weather is melting ice, so they cannot travel across it as easily. The lack of ice bergs has made hunting seals harder. The rising sea levels from the melting ice caps produces stronger waves which erodes the coastal areas. The sea can also rise and cause fresh water ponds to empty into the oceans taking the fresh water marine live with it. Since the indigenous people mainly relay on hunting, they are worried about global warming impacts on food chains. Climate change is making the environment for lemmings, which are animals lower on the food chain, more difficult to survive. This affects animals higher on the food chain that depends on the lemmings as a food source. The same issues applies to polar bears that eat seals. Permafrost is melting causing mudslides on once solid, frozen earth. The locals often come together to form focus groups to discussed the current issues and gather information from another. There was even a conference by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in 2008 on “Indigenous Peoples and Climate Change” to make policies to help future crises. I personally think…
Us as humans are the cause for this global warming which contains the CO2 and rises the Earth’s temperature. There are only a handful of organisms that are bothered by global warming such as coral. Coral tends to bleach when the temperature rises. Krill is also affected by global warming and they are one of the main bases of the food chain.…
Jay Gatsby is like the American government – the weak, dishonest, inefficient government we believe to be the best in the world. His individual qualities are ones that, when examined objectively, should be frowned upon. Like the government, we can hate these qualities but love the whole. From the beginning of The Great Gatsby, he is protected by the most influential character; the narrator. Because our first impression of Gatsby is provided by a biased friend of his, our view is skewed in his favor, resulting in overcompensation for his obvious flaws. Gatsby is not a good man, we just want him to be. We so strongly want to believe that he is great and pure that we are willing to look past his inherent qualities, to construct in our minds a…
Civil War Technology Civil war technology was a very important part of the war. It influenced inventors and military inventors to create more weapon and machines to help in the war. New ideas and creations happened in this time, it changed the way wars were fought forever and not only wars were affected everyday life was also upgraded. For example railroads and telegraphs were a major part of change in this time. Weapons were a major part of the change of the civil war.…
Global warming is very bad for the polar bears and all the other animals that live in the snow biome. The reason why it is bad is because the warming of the earth is causing the ice and snow to melt. Which means that the polar bears will not have a place to live this is already happening in some polar parts. Once all the snow and ice melts the polar bears will not have anywhere to live and they won't be able to eat. Which leads to all the animals to become extinct and there will be no more polar areas.…
The first effect of the Global Warming on the polar bears is their habitat. Habitat is the place providing animals with food, sleeping area and every essential material to live. In the Arctic, the polar bears’ habitat becomes worse recently due to the shortage of sea ice and food.…
From Encyclopedia Britannica, It states The warming of our planet is causing less snow and melting ice. Ice is very important to us we use it to cross frozen rivers. From encyclopedia britannica, it states that polar bears homes are melting and the will be extinct.. from encyclopedia britannica, it states that polar bears homes are melting and the will be extinct. Global warming is ruining many things and we need to stop it…
The Global Warming is an increase of the average temperature of the terrestrial surface, considered as a symptom and a consequence of the climate change. The global warming of the Earth is already a fact that produced, and it will produce, serious consequences in the climate, the atmosphere and the biodiversity: increase of the average temperature of the Earth, decrease of the caps of ice at the Poles, increase of the level of the sea, increase of the desertification, disappearance of flora and fauna in ecosystems, shortage…
Global warming has always been a problem for humans. In the past 650,000 years, According to NASA, Earth’s average temperature has risen 1.7 degrees fahrenheit since 1880 (Global Climate Change). In fact, January of 2017 has been the third warmest ever recorded. More funding should go into helping global climate change because rising sea levels are dangering the land, there is a major decrease in arctic ice, and rising temperatures are causing more animal species to go on the endangered list.…
Self-leadership is a trait that everyone possesses, whether they know it or not. During at least one point in their lives, everyone has had to take responsibility and lead themself in order to achieve their goal. Not everyone realizes it, but everyone has done it. The book Mastering Self-Leadership: Empowering Yourself for Personal Excellence by Christopher P. Neck and Charles C. Manz explains the different types of leadership, different approaches to self-leadership, and how you can lead yourself through numerous situations using multiple self-leadership concepts. Overall, this is a great book that will definitely help you become a better leader to others, as well as yourself, and will help you achieve your goals.…
Animals are migrating more often due to global warming. If this isn’t enough reefs in the ocean are dying due to the increase in sea temperatures. The Great barrier reef in Australia is suffering from coral bleaching, which is when the algae in the coral are expelled due to higher temperatures or extreme weather events. This is causing a chain reaction that is deadly for the rest of the…
The major activity of men which is responsible for global warming is the burning of fossil fuels by factories creating harmful gases that are trapped in the atmosphere. As a result based in the documentary I have watched, corals reefs which are homes of some aquatic animals are dying as the ocean absorbs more carbon dioxide making them more acidic. In Africa, the annual migration of over a million animals is on a threat as drought decimate on the grassland they feed on. The near 1 degree rise on average temperature is killing the trees in Canada turning their leaves red. The arctic region is warming at twice the rate of the rest of the world. Last 2007, large arctic glaciers broke up and melted causing higher sea levels. Most places already experienced extreme fire because of too high temperature destroying millions of properties of the people. Other destructive effects of global warming are hurricane destruction, cyclones, catastrophic flooding, tsunami and the like. But the worst effect one could imagine is death. Over a billion of people have died because of…
The issue of global warming has never failed to attract people's attention. This report analyses the ways that global warming affect ecosystem with explaining the result of greenhouse and global warming. There are some cases which will be shown with detailed date.…
