How Does Lord Of The Flies Change
“We’ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we’re not savages. We’re English, and the English are best at everything.” The author of the book Lord of the Flies is William Golding. The Lord of the Flies is about a group of british schoolboys that became stranded on this island. Throughout the book the boys change because there isn’t any adults there to tell them what to do. The main characters of this book are Ralph, Piggy, Jack, Simon, Roger, Sam and Eric. Jack is leader of the choir and turns savage throughout the book.
At the beginning of the book they choose who would be chief and decide things. Jack thought that since he was head chorister boy he would get voted as chief. He believed he was better than Ralph because of his power
over the choir. He was full of himself and arrogant from the very beginning.” I ought to be chief because I'm head chapter chorister head boy. When Jack starts his first hunt he couldn’t bring himself to kill the pig. He told them that he couldn’t decide when the time was right to stab the pig.”I thought I might kill.”.The real reason was because he never killed anything before and was still scared of harming a living being. Also, he wasn’t fully savage yet. In chapter four is when jack becomes obsessed with killing and savage. “Got it.”. Ralph thinks he sees a ship but Jack figured out where the pigs would be when the sun would come out.
