How Does Nancy Colier Show Animal Cruelty

Have you ever attending a circus before? Have you seen the thrill in they eyes of innocent children that are surprised by the lights, hoops, fire and large animals? Nobody know what happens when the lights shut off and the crowd disappears. At the circus animals are showing off talents that wild animals would not have obtained in their habitats. Nancy Colier argues in the article that the circus is a talent show for the animals that exhibits animal cruelty and abuse. Colier is correct that the circus exhibits animal cruelty and abuse, but I do not agree that the solution she states would be enough to notice the problem with the circus. In her essay, Colier argues that the circus is an act of violence for the animals. She states that wild animals do not naturally flips, juggle, jump through
She says “Most importantly, we should decide if we are okay with and want to support the cruelty that is being perpetrated on these living hostages, all so that we can have a few laughs” (Colier). She states that we should not continue to watch as the animals suffer as hostages just to watch ourselves enjoy the inhabitant tricks the animals will perform. She says that you have the power to stop the innocent animal abuse by not buying tickets to the show and warn others about the problem.

I disagree with Colier’s solution because I feel that is not enough to provide a solution. If one person chooses to not go, that is only one person. We would not have a global effect with this solution to solve the animal cruelty problem. There should be a world-wide event to show the effects of the circus shows on the species of animals that are in the show. We would not put people through rings of fire because it would be inhabitant. Animals have lives just like the human race. We should let them be and let them be themselves in the
