How Does Obama Affect The Economy

At the beginning of the State of the Union Address president Obama talks about the things he want to see improve. For example, fixing broken immigration system, equal rights, and rising minimum wage. Obama said the United States of America, right now, has the strongest, most durable economy in the world. Obama also says the economy is changing in profound ways. Obama also Companies in a global economy can locate anywhere, and they face tougher competition. Since companies can locate anywhere they want, it leaves less room for workers to get a raise. He said that all the money is concentrated at the” top”. Because of this it is harder for families to themselves out of poverty, and for people to start their careers. He said for the past seven years our goal has been a growing economy that also works better for everybody. He says we’ve made progress but we need to make more.

Obama says they are trying to give homeowners the freedom to generate and store their own energy. He also says they’ve cut foreign oil by nearly 60 percent and cut carbon pollution more than any other country on Earth.
The next thing Obama talks about is ISIL. Obama says Both Al Qaida and now ISIL pose a direct threat to our people. Obama says we need to take them out. He also says “as we focus on destroying ISIL, over-the-top claims that this is World War III just play into their hands”.
My reaction to this speech was it sounded like he is going to help the United States a lot. When Obama talked about education I was surprised when he said the graduation rate went up because of early childhood education. I thought that was a very good statistic to put in the speech. Obama talked about ISIL and how he wants to handle them. I think he should take more action towards them but yet stay back enough so there is not another war. Overall I think obama had a good speech, and I agree with most of the things he had to
