How Does Rap Music Affect Society
Music has remained for eras attracts the heart of the people around the world. It brings the people together and also motivates other people. Rap or hip-hop started at the end of the 1970’s as a kind of street art between African American teenagers. But it wasn’t until Sugar hill gang released “Rapper Delights” in 1979. Rap developed from an old school style which based on pretty simple lyrics. And now it was developed to a new school style, louder and more complicated lyrics. One of the most rappers are Eminem, Tupac and snoop dog (Plasticlittleraps, N,d ). Rap music can affect our mood and thinking. It also had a negative and positive influence in our society and audience nowadays.

The negative impact includes sex, drugs and murder it may lead to commit suicide. Censoring music and speaking up can lessen these problems. J kwon, a new rap artist release a song saying “"teen drinking is very bad...but I got a fake I.D. yo” it means that don’t drink its bad therefore they can drink because they got a fake I.D. to fake there age so they can get alcohol. Although it has a lot of negative impact, hip hop has an enormous fan base around the world with an inclusive demographic of listeners mostly teenagers. But there are also a positive impact, it can education people in other viewpoint and raised many community issues to engage people to be aware and concerned on the issues. It also raised awareness for racial judgement, and significance of education. Hip hop is also a reflection on mind and soul. Rap can also entertain the listener/viewers by using nasty word. It is being used in the community work field as a structure of therapy. Hip-Hop Therapy exert hip hop culture and music to involve youth and speech their issues in therapy. The goal is to get youth patients to indicate on their past experiences by relating to hip hop

    Hip hop serves as a form of unity and a crutch for some. Kids tend to always be looking for an adult figure in their life. Some have many others have none, but just about all look up to those in media. Rappers are a part of a multi-billion dollar industry their reach stretches from clothing to cars. Rappers tend to be that adult figure in most urban communities. These kids look up to see their favourite music stars are like themselves. Popular rap star Kendrick Lamar grew up in Compton, one of Americas worst hoods. Now he is a huge star and has fame and fortune. The youth in situations like this see him as a form of inspiration. They aspire to be great like their favourite hip hop stars; they want to pull themselves out of the ghetto. This impact on youth is a great positive for the genre, and a great story for it to. For some the music that they can identify with the most is a way for other to connect. Much like people connect through sports or other interests, hip hop serves as the same tool. Friendships form through these social bonds provided by the music of this genre. With the formation of these friendships they often lead to positive results. For example Taylor and Taylor note that “Early hip hop has often been credited with helping to reduce inner-city gang violence by replacing physical violence with dance and artwork battles.”(qtd About Hip Hop Youth Subculture, 1) These outlets and groups help in reducing violence and instead promote creativity. Music of any genre is a form on entertainment. Rap is no different; these kids are escaping into the world of music. With these kids staying away from gangs and violence they are more likely to grow up to be functioning members of society. While the rap stars are not the sole reason for this they are definitely a part of the solution as opposed to the problem.     The short story “Gaston” by William Saroyan is a creative story that portrays the better parts of life of a torn family. The father and the daughter in the story are spending quality bonding time during the frame of the story. What began as just the simple act of a meal of peaches turned into a thoughtful insight of there lives. Throughout the story the concepts of fear love and loss of both the father and his daughter are portrayed through Gaston. The imaginative father plays an important role in the story. He created a life for the bug within the peach that held so much meaning and importance to backbone of the story. Preparing the day with his daughter as she naps he purchases seven peaches for an afternoon snack. While eating the “bad” peach he comes across a bug that has made his home within the seed of the peach. He gives the critter the name “Gaston” and refuses to squash him. I feel that we can relate this situation of the bug to the relationship between the father and his daughter. The fathers fear of losing his daughter and or making her unhappy is very strong. Just in the way he jumps at the fact she wants a bad peach. And finding something good within the bad peach is like finding something good coming out of the divorce situation. The fathers love for his daughter is prominence, we can assume how much he cares for her when he tells her “the important thing is what you want, not what I want” (63). His love for her helps overcome the loss of his family and home. I believe that when he states “the poor fellow hasn’t got a home, and there he is with all that pure design and handsome form, and nowhere to go” (62), he talks about his self. The daughters concept of love grown within the story. Her first reaction to the bug was “ugh” and wanting to squash it. She formed a bond with the critter when her father was around and explained to her how special the bug is.…
