Superman holds many qualities that make him unique but different in each movies. Ultimately, Superman has a different identity as one overbears the other.
In Superman Return’s, Superman is omniscient as he himself states, “I hear everything. You wrote that the world doesn’t need a savior… but every day I hear people crying for one” (Singer). Superman can hear everyone’s cries all at once, a power only God holds suggesting he is omniscient. Furthermore, Superman does not hold such burdens that weaken him, but holds the power of strength to eliminate his enemies. According to the article Superheroes are a bunch of fascists, “The main problem is force: sheer physical force, which lies at the heart of the superhero myth… Superman triumphs by being able to move faster and hit harder than everyone else: essentially a fascist concept” (Cooper 2). Superman is portrayed as physically more muscular than in Superman Returns because in this movie strength and power is more emphasized and not Jesus’s burdens.
