Although this is one positive to technology in the catholic society there are still many other positives which also come with negatives.
Technology is able to be used in the catholic society for many helpful reasons. In schools is it also able to be used for liturgies as ‘It helps people participate in the liturgy, as the song words, responses are displayed and now younger people can be engaged more in the liturgy through the use of technology’. News is spread quickly so people from Canada aren’t waiting for the news that Australians already know, therefore people are on an equal level. Research shows that you are able to connect with thousands hundreds of thousands of kilometres away from you whilst feeling that they are right there with you in the moment while you are talking to them in an instant of clicking the send button. This is able to influence the amount of catholic people in different countries around the world and it has the ability to increase the number as people do not have to be right there in the moment to be a part of it all. By having technology used in the catholic system, the catholic society “is able to communicate with people – especially young people”. This is important in catholic schools, as many children and students are all in for the trend of having the best sort of technology.
Technology also offers important benefits such as;
- They carry out news and information about religious events, ideas and personalities
- They serve as vehicles for evangelization and catechesis
- They provide inspiration, encouragement and opportunities for worship to persons confined to their homes of institutions
- Offers people direct and immediate access to important religious and spiritual
