shows how at any second, you could die. Since death can show up at any time, proves that death is not on a time schedule.
Also, In the short story The Murders of the Rue Morgue by Poe displays how even the most capable can’t solve everything. “ But the prefect of police was not entirely pleased that the case had been solved outside the office.” The murder was not solved by the officers, but solved by an outside source, Dupin. Since the officers were not the most capable, Dupin took it upon himself to solve the case.
Likewise, The short story the Raven by Edgar Allan Poe pictures a love story using death.
In this story, a man is trying to get over the loss of his wife by reading books. Late one night, there is a knocking at his bedroom door. He goes to see who it is and there is nothing. Nothing but darkness.”And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, that I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I opened wide the door;— Darkness there and nothing more.” (Poe, PoetryFoundation.org) So he goes back to reading his book. Yet again he hears a knocking. This time it is coming from outside of his house. When he opens his window, a raven flies in and sits atop his bedroom door. At first the raven doesn't do anything. He then begins talking to this raven and it talks back. The raven, who has come from the devil, says that he will never see his wife again. This makes the man even sadder because he will never see the love of his life
again.
Every poem or story Edgar Allan Poe has written includes death or murder in some way. This is because of the many tragedies he has faced throughout his life. Because tragedies are nearly hard or near impossible to forget, Edgar Allan Poe wrote about them throughout all his literary works in some way. If he had a normal childhood without all the death and suffering he faced, the world we live in today would be vastly different.
