While Sweden is filed with many different types of inventions I believe that one invention stands out above all the others. I believe that Sweden’s most important contribution to the word is the invention of dynamite. Dynamite is used so much that it is a house hold name, and without dynamite many of the places we visit or roads we use would not be possible. Also without many of the things that dynamite has contributed to the cultures of our world would not have been able to blend as they have.
Dynamite helped the United States culture many ways. The 1st way it helped was in the industrial revolution. Dynamite helped to clear the mining shafts. And also just to release the coal and stone from the walls of the mines. This helped America by giving the fuel for the revolution, it also created the working class culture of …show more content…
America.
The next large thing to be added by dynamite was the creation of the railroad system.
The system called for long flat road. Which meant that mountains could not be climbed. So they either had to be gone around or through. Since going around would have taken too long, holes were drilled in the side of mountains and filled with dynamite. Which was then set off to create a tunnel through the mountain so rail road systems could be created.
This helped America extend from the east coast out west where dynamite was used to create damns to help retain water for the barren west coast. This was the only reason that the west coast of America was inhabitable. If not there wouldn’t have been enough water supplies inland to create any towns. This would have caused America to only be inhabited on the east coast, making it much smaller.
The railroad system didn’t just help America but it helped all of Europe. A single rail system connects all of the western countries in Europe. Unifying their cultures and helping to break down the boarders between these countries. Helping to prevent another world
war.
Dynamite also is the reason that we now have the Nobel Peace Prize. The creator of dynamite Alfred Nobel was so ashamed and upset about how many people his invention had killed. Both through the intended use of building damns railroads and buildings, but also threw the unintended use as a weapon in war. That he created the prize as a way to motivate and reward people for creating peacekeeping science and inventions. The existence of this prize has acted as a bridge between cultures. Giving every culture throughout the world a bright spot they can bond over.
So while dynamite hasn’t created its own culture it has though, helped to bridge gaps between the cultures of the world. Without it America wouldn’t reach from east coast to west. And Europe wouldn’t be so free flowing. Without it the boarders of each state and each country would be a wall for each culture to be trapped inside of.
