No matter if you are in school now or were, you probably that day off of school you get in January. Right? Did you enjoy it? Was it because of Rosa Parks? No. That is because of Martin Luther King Jr. So, who do you think has influenced society more? Is it Rosa Parks, or is it Martin Luther King Jr.? I think that Martin Luther King Jr. influenced society more, but, people may argue that it is Rosa Parks because she was brave to stand up to the authorities, but Martin Luther King Jr. got shot and killed in his peaceful protests. Martin Luther King Jr. influenced society because MLK JR (Martin Luther King Jr.) has to lead many
peaceful marches, speeches, and protests, he has been recognized by the president (JFK) and because there is a holiday for him. So, who do you think influenced society more? If you think Rosa Parks, or even Martin Luther King Jr., read on to find out why MLK Jr has influenced society more. Now, my first reason is that the (King) has to lead many peaceful things like marches, speeches, and protests. This includes him lead the Montgomery bus boycott, numerous speeches and more. In my opinion, if a person has done that, then they must have put an impact on society right? It’s up to a person’s opinion. So, do you still think Rosa Parks? If I haven’t convinced you yet, or you just want to keep reading, let’s continue, shall we?
Next, he (King) has been recognized for what he’s done. President John F. Kennedy recognized him for his speeches, was the president of a civil right group, and be has received the Nobel Peace Prize. That just makes you think, “if a person did such good things and gets recognized for what he did, then he surely put some form of impact on society. Right?” I sure stand by that statement, what about you? For a person who gets recognized by famous people (the president of the united states of America), then he/she is definitely an impact on society. Lastly, someone everyone knows is that there is a holiday for him(King). This only happened because President John F. Kennedy noticed King and his work and he made a holiday for King. Surely, if a person gets acknowledge from a president and gets a holiday for him, then he clearly has influenced society in one for form or another. To conclude for someone who has a holiday for them, they have clearly influenced society.
I believe that MLK influenced society more than Rosa Parks. He did many speeches and peaceful protests that brought people together, he got recognized by JFK, and he has a holiday for him. To say the least, I strongly believe that MLK influenced society more. But, who do you think influenced society more, Rosa Parks of MLK?
