of reason. Both sisters thought that they would never marry because of the circumstances pertaining to their family’s fortune; because their father had no sons to be heir to his fortune. Therefore, Mr. Bennet fortune would go to the cousin Mr. Collins. So throughout the story they had to reassure each other that one day they will marry and be happy and not just marry for wealth. The other person who Elizabeth was supportive of was her friend Charlotte Lucas. Even though Elizabeth didn’t understand at first why Charlotte was marrying Mr. Collins she eventually did. Elizabeth still remained friends with Charlotte. Elizabeth even went and stayed with Charlotte to help support her in her new marriage with Mr. Collins. Because Charlotte didn’t really want to marry Mr. Collins she only married him so she could move up in society and not end up as a maid.
Mr.
Darcy was very conceited when he was introduced into the story in everyone eyes, but once Elizabeth voice her opinion about him when he proposed to her the first time he began to change. I began to admire Mr. Darcy character because after the moment Elizabeth refused to marry him he began changing for the better. Even towards his friends and Elizabeth. He was acting like a real gentleman, which shocked everyone of his new behavior. He realized his wrongs and owned up to them and in my opinion that takes a lot of guts and courage to do that. One incident that Mr. Darcy does this is with Mr. Bingley. Mr. Darcy confessed to him that he knew that Jane came to Pemberley looking for him, but withheld the information from him. Mr. Darcy apologized to Mr. Bingley for his actions. Mr. Darcy also decipher the other problem that unfolded in this story dealing with Mr. Whikham and Lydia getting married. Mr. Darcy paid off Mr. Whikhman debts without Lydia family knowing who actually did it. That was his way of making amends to the problem because he blame his self for Whikham marrying Lydia. Mr. Darcy felt as though if he had told other people about what type of person Mr. Whikham really was that Lydia marriage would’ve never taken place. Because she was so young and
ngad.
By the end of the story Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy eventually falls in love with each other. They stop letting their egos cloud their judgements and really took the time out to get to know each other instead of judging each other off of their first impressions. The two characters are alike in some ways, both are very head strong and determined with what they want in life. They realized that once they made some compromises that their relationship would work. They didn’t allow anyone to change their minds about marriage, it didn’t bother them that even some of their family members were opposed to the idea of them getting married. Because their family backgrounds were not compatible in a sense. It did not even their close family. Love ended up over ruling it all!
