How Is Joan Of Arc Brave
Joan of Arc was born in France in 1412. Joan never learned to write or read in all of her life. She grew up in a scary, violent place, where lots of fighting happened, and during her early years, her village got burned down. Seven years after Henry V died, 17 year old Joan went off to the French court, claiming that she heard angelic voices in her head, telling her to get the English out of France. She was accepted by the dauphin, after a lot of skeptism and tests for her loyalty. Joan led her army to many victories in two years, but in one of her battles, she got captured by the English, and the French king refused to pay the money for her release, so after some trials, she got burned at the stake, accused of heresy, at the age of nineteen.

Joan was extremely brave. She had an army full of men, and she was the only woman. She had to have been extremely brave to be able to do that. At that time, a girl leading an army would have been laughable, especially a seventeen year old girl. Still, she bravely convinced the dauphin to give her an army. Joan also helped the French to win many battles that they would have lost if she hadn’t been leading them. She was highly skillful, and she was an expert in battle. She was better at leading them then most military leaders of that time. Joan of Arc also helped to end feudalism in Europe. She did this by strengthening the king and the expense of the nobles. The feudal system was never fair to people like the serfs, that had to provide a lot of labour to the lord of the manor for almost nothing in return. Also, feudalism caused many fights to break out between the lords of the manors, and violence wasn’t easily discovered. Also, feudalism did not have the power or strength to unite large regions or countries. Joan proved that women could do things that were considered men’s jobs. She was a great military leader, and showed that women could be just as good as men. Even in Joan’s death, she made great things happen. She inspired the French to fight the English for their land.
