Sophie into his cave and all) but his character showed “nice” in the story. In the book the BFG is a very tall and scary giant , but he comes off a nice warm-hearted giant.
For example, the BFG took Sophie to his cave (which would seem like a scary thing) and he talked about eating humans for a while. But then on page 30, Sophie asked trembling, “W-What kind of human beings do you eat?” The BFG replied, “Me!? Me gobbling up human beans!?” “This I never, the others yes!” The BFG telling Sophie this shows the reader that even though you are as 24-foot tall giant, does not mean you cannot be nice and warm-hearted. Even though the BFG is a tall giant, does not mean he acts that way. The appearance of the BFG looks like a human eater but this character and actions show that he is not a human eater because everyone else in his giant country eats humans and the BFG HELPS humans instead, especially Sophie. To add onto the BFG helping humans, on page 60, when the Bloodbottler was trying to eat Sophie, the BFG saved her from the Bloodbottler eating her. This shows that even if you are living in a country of your own, does not mean you have to act like the other people. The BFG can act nice too, do you think
too? The giant would seem like a scary character but his character showed “nice”and his appearance definitely did not show that. For example, the BFG was loyal when Sophie came up with her plan to stop all of the other giants and the BFG listened and trusted Sophie, which does not seem like something a giant would do (trust a little girl). The BFG shows us that you do not have to be nice to look nice. In conclusion, the fact that the BFG is a 24-foot tall giant does not mean he acts like one. The BFG comes off a nice warm-hearted giant, he has a “nice” character, and even though he looks like a human eater, does not mean he acts like one. Anyone can show that appearance does not show your character, even if you are a 24-foot tall giant.
