Question 2 The holocaust impacted Bruno’s life greatly. First- he had to move from his hometown because his dad is a soldier. When he gets there he has absolutely no clue what is going on in his country. In their home they have Jews that work for them but Bruno just thinks he is a farmer. Schmuel and Bruno’s friendship is forbidden so that affects Bruno because he really cares about Schmuel but can’t do anything to help him. You can obviously see that there are Nazi soldiers standing everywhere. We soon find out that his dad is a Nazi soldier and their family will be moving to the countryside. In their new home Bruno (the little boy) looks out the window and sees what seems to be a concentration camp so he asks his mom if he can go play with them. One of the people from the camp comes into their house and seems to be working for the family. Bruno asks why they wear pajamas. His father tells him that they are not really people at all. His Mother cuts him off there.
One day Bruno walks to the “farm” and finds a boy on the other side of a barbed wire fence. He finds out the boy’s name is Schmuel. The next day while speaking to the boy Bruno finds out that Schmuel is a Jew. Later that week in tutoring they learn that the Jews are responsible for the collapse of Germany (or so they say). Throughout the movie people complain about the smell of burning things. Bruno does not know that the Jews are being burned
