Mussolini’s appointment as Prime Minister was partially due to the growth in support for Fascism, both through membership and electoral vote. The manifesto appealed to a wide range of people, such as the Industrialists who resented the Socialist trade unions, the Middle classes who had a fear of a Socialist revolution, and the Army and ex-military, who even went as far as providing transportation and weapons for Squadristi; out of hatred for the Socialists who had worked in the factories during the war rather than fighting on the frontline. All these groups supported the Fascist cause, and it was this backing from the elite, which put the King under an immense amount of pressure that eventually led to him choosing Mussolini as Prime Minister.…

It was at this time when small, pro nationalist groups began to spread all over Italy under the new name of the fascist party which was under the control of one Benito Mussolini. He swiftly began to increase in popularity and he would stop at nothing to get to the top of the political ladder. This-in conjunction to the rest of his life-can be used to make a judgement on whether Benito Mussolini was a man who cared for the renewal of his country and or if he believed that all men were expendable for his well-being. Many historians have come to the conclusion that he was a vein man of evil as he invaded defenceless nations such as Ethiopia in the name of establishing fascism within East Africa. He became the accomplice of Adolf Hitler thereby disregarding the Jewish people. And finally his lust for power and greed brought about the timely fall of his fascist empire. Therefore, it can be said that Benito Mussolini was a vile and self-righteous…

At political rallies, Mussolini had the charisma and stature to win over crowds, despite the content of his speeches being filled with contradictions, incorrect facts, and outright malicious in intent. Fascist squads and militias referred to as “black shirts”, often terrorized political enemies in the name of Mussolini, although were not officially organized by him initially. With the government weakened from the war, and Fascist black shirts attacking local governments, Mussolini rose to power. In October 1922, around 30,000 black shirts gathered in the “March on Rome” to demand the resignation of the Prime Minister. On October 29, 1922, the king named Mussolini as the the youngest Prime Minister in Italian history. One of the fundamental tenants in Mussolini Doctrine of Fascism is the strong sense of nationalism, which we wants the Italian people to embrace. As a result, he calls for a unification of all Italians over his Fascist regime. Mussolini truly thought that the Italian nation was preordained for greatness, and that the only way to fulfil this destiny was through extreme social cooperation under Fascism. To that end, Mussolini advocated a mass modernization of the Italian state, centralization of government and creation of a state in “spirit, not territory.” Mussolini wanted Italy to leave its mark on history through the fascist system, so his Doctrine emphasised cultural contributions such as art and philosophy. Mussolini believed that a nation’s power was derived from its people, who had to be “numerous, hard working, and well regulated” in order to succeed.…

Mussolini was a very charismatic person enabling him to influence Hitler, and these actions had later consequences involving the people of…

Mussolini rise to power through the use of violence is widely evident as it is summed up in this Mussolini himself ‘for my part, I prefer 50 000 votes to 5000 votes’.
