The American Dream is the idea that every U.S. citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. Myrtle Wilson is the wife of garage owner George Wilson and the mistress of Tom Buchanan. George and Myrtle don't really have any money. Myrtle can be identified as a person who doesn't love what she has and is doesn't care what goes on in other people's relationship.
