At the Women’s March the day following Trump’s inauguration, there was a rallying cry: “Love trumps hate.” This cry means that Donald Trump supports division and discrimination, and others against him support love and inclusivity. The march claimed to support women from every background, however, it seemed not to include pro-life women. This is significant because it shows the feminist resistance movement’s radical view of abortion. Therefore, it is hard to be inclusive and of unity with rejections towards the position that most American women side with on abortion. Through an annual survey taken on “Knights of Columbus/Marist Poll”, a little over 50 percent of women would like further restrictions on abortion. As Lauren Enrquez stated, “Women face hurdles in pregnancy.” Every pregnant woman has a different situation. Not being financially stable, being a rape victim, or the possibility of having a baby with a disorder are all drastically different situations that would lead to an abortion. I believe these women of different backgrounds should have affordable resources. Conversely, one of the resources can be abortion. However, it is important to note that accessible and proper assistance will play a big factor. Women need to be in an environment that supports and empowers them through whatever decision they choose to make. The problem in America today is people are so quick to choose pro-life, but they fail to help those they forced to keep a baby.
