What is ethics? Ethics is basically two things. First, ethics refers to well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what humans ought to do, usually it comes in terms of rights, obligations, fairness, specific virtues or benefits to society. Secondly, ethics refers to the study and development of one 's ethical standards. Ethics is not about answers. Instead, ethics is about asking questions. It 's about asking lots of questions and maybe, if you 're lucky, even asking the right questions every now and then. Business ethics is the behavior that a business adheres to in its daily dealings with the world. The ethics of a particular business can be diverse. They apply not only to how the business interacts with the world at large, but also to their one-on-one dealings with a single customer (Velasquez, 2010).
In order to create and conserve an ethical environment in any company, there are many practices that can motives to encourage employees to focus on the ethical part of the company’s environment. One of the important practices is, a code of ethics or also called a code of conduct or ethical code sets out the company 's values, ethics, objective and responsibilities. A well-written code of ethics should also give guidance to employees on how to deal with certain ethical situations. Every code of ethics is different and should reflect the company 's ethos, values and business style. Moreover, it helps in preventing any unethical behavior from happening where it works like a safety shield to the company and that’s why I chose this practice. Implementing a code of conduct in the workplace involves communicating the policies and guidelines to all staff and providing any necessary training to ensure they understand the code. The code should be practiced and promoted by management to lead the way for staff. Company’s can implement the code of conduct by introduction training, which is a chance for
