You will be asked to take notes from a textbook assignment.
Reading notes MUST be done in the correct format, if not, the assignment will be returned to you to be reformatted.
The format is as follows:
You MUST include the Chapter and Section numbers and the Section Title for me to grade your work. Put a box around this information.

1st-level subheadings (red in your textbook) should be written exactly as they are stated in the textbook: underline these subheadings twice. Then summarize the information that follows that subheading: use bullet points, arrows, and abbreviations. Try to structure the information in a way that makes it easy to view and understand. Minimize unnecessary words: the goal is to include the maximum amount of information in a minimum of words, in an organizational scheme that is easy to follow.

2nd-level subheadings (green in your textbook) should be underlined once. Then summarize the information that follows that subheading. …Continue with this process of outlining and notetaking as you go through the entire section.
Complete the entire reading assignment in this manner. Be sure your summaries include main ideas and names and terms, but do NOT rewrite the whole chapter. Use bullets, lists, abbreviations, etc. Be sure you can understand your own abbreviations.
Be as brief as possible, but be thorough. Make every word count. Don’t make yourself miserable with this by writing pages and pages. The purpose of this assignment is to develop effective note-taking skills—NOT to copy the chapter.
