The Soviets recruited a more than qualified ambassador for his job, who actually went the extra mile to impress the Sharkanese, concerning ambassadors. Unlike for the US who just bribed Ambassador Sears to “take the bullet”, in return he would receive an extraordinarly more amount of money than he was making in the US. The booze in Sharkan are cheap which is another uplifting reason why the US is in Sharkan. To help a developing country the best way to help is to experience the life first-hand and ask the locals on how they need help, questions of that caliber, thus making small changes accordingly.
