How To Write A Profile Essay
The most challenging and complex part of the writing process is the beginning. The profile essay that I wrote three weeks ago was the most difficult essay I have had to write. There were a lot of perplexing steps that went into writing this essay. A profile essay is a paper about a specific person; this includes parts of an interview, background information on the person and inspiring details about their character. After reading this type of essay, the audience should feel that they know the person outlined in the paper. I wrote my profile essay about my sister because she has inspired me to become a better person in anything I do. The first step I took when evolving this paper was deciding what person in my life had the most influence on the individual that I am. Once I determined this person, I began brainstorming questions for my interview that would impact a positive contribution to my paper. After I finalized the questions I would ask, I implemented the interview with my sister. The interview went very well and served as my priorities, where I would decide the …show more content…
I wrote each paragraph individually and precisely added parts of our interview where they fit best. Specifically placing parts of the interview was an important entity because showing the wise words of my sister opened the audience to the inspiration I feel from her. The revising and editing of the profile essay took the most time. Once I had finished writing the rough draft, I read over the entire paper to find the sentences I could completely revise to make the paper flow more efficiently. After revising each applicable sentence, I went through the essay once more and made the necessary edits. When I felt that I had made all of the revisions and edits essential to represent my sister as the inspiring person that she is, I printed out the final copy and turned the essay

The essay I choose to write about was Maya Angelou’s “Sister Flowers”. I believe that the purpose of this essay was to describe an important part of this person’s life that helped them to become a better writer/poet/reader and also describe what I think to be this persons mentor. This essay talks about how Mrs. Bertha Flowers decides to take Marguerite Henderson home with her to give her good books to read and to read her an excerpt form a book. I think it is a very well written and extremely descriptive essay, it makes you feel like you are there with them listening to the pages turning and almost taste the tea cookie or smell the vanilla from Mrs. Flower’s home.…

He was young and doing want any young boy likes to do with a four-wheeler and that his go fast. Laura Stone, writer for dontjudgeme.com, writes; “Speaking of those toys… While speeding on his quad (ATV) sans helmet, he smacked into a partially hidden tree stump and flew up in the air an estimated 80 to 120 feet, coming straight down on his head. As he lay there convulsing, the ambulance made its way through the bracken to him. He died in the back of it as they raced back to the hospital, but was able to be brought back to life. I made my way across the parking lot, towards the entrance to the gym. As I reached the double doors I paused, then slowly turning, I attempted to take in as much of the outside view as I could. I saw a green meadow dotted with a few thoughtfully placed picnic tables, a few baseball, and soccer fields. I also noticed that this place is home to a busy skateboard park right beside a well-kept playground. My pan of the scene had revealed to me that this place has grown into something more than what I had remembered it to be. Today this center welcomes people of all ages. In contrast, when the U.S. Air Force ran this facility it was for military personnel and their adult dependents. It was a simple gymnasium with a couple of minimally groomed baseball diamonds and multipurpose fields, lacking any beauty. Today, the sturdy old building and surrounding fields are a beautiful sight to behold, and maintained by a local community services organization. The quick survey of the sports center had reminded me that this place is still serving the community in a big way with its available venues and activities.…

His name was "Evan". I didn't know him all that well. We were both eleven years old and riding the school bus home at the end of the day. Suddenly he began to stare, his eyes glazing over and saliva curled at the edge of his mouth. I was witnessing someone have a seizure right in front of my eyes. It was the first time I had ever experienced something this serious in nature; someone's life was at risk. At that moment I noticed that everyone started to back away as if disgusted by the drool coming out of his mouth. I heard kids yelling for the bus driver's help, but she wouldn't do anything, or couldn't do anything for that matter. She just kept driving and said she couldn't help him at the moment.…

We started off with reading the profile essay out loud alternating paragraphs with her starting first. After the first paragraph was completed she gave me feedback and also asked if I had any questions. It was my turn to read the second paragraph and then we did the same thing as first paragraph. After that Jordan said that she wants to read the whole profile eassy to me because that was something that she figured out got me going in the right direction. I thought that was really helpful how she knew what was more helpful for me and she was right about that because when someone else read to me I start to put an image in my head of what they are reading. She said I am giving an clear understanding who is was helping and how. Another thing that was helpful is that how she was really friendly and because of that I’m not scared to go back in the writing center. We also did a five minute question break at the end and there we came up with some of the questions I could ask Mike Mcgarvin.…

    Profile of a Person

There are a lot of people around Belmont University with different concepts, different goals, different experiences, different cultures, but most important, different methods of thinking. When I realized that I would need to write a profile of someone else, I thought it would be the easiest essay that I have ever done. Contrary to my expectations, I realized that to write someone else's profile is kind of hard, because it is not only a simple thing such as just write the entire life of the person. A lot of stuff is behind the profile of a person. When I first thought about who I should interview, I was kind of lost, because I do not know a lot of people inside Belmont yet, so I had the idea to interview one of my teammates from the soccer team. After thinking about it, I realized that interviewing one of my teammates would not be a very good idea, first because the majority or all of them have the same interests as mine, and are experiencing almost the same things as myself, and second because the thing that we most like in our lives is soccer, so it would be kind of boring to write about a person that looks like me in a lot of things.…
