Besides having a good idea for a upstart business, and or having the financial resources to support this idea being knowledgeable about the employment laws in your state/area can and will be the start, and the end, for all business. Making sure a business is in compliances with rules and regulation can vary from state to state, and sometimes city to city.
After conducting a throe research for applicable laws in the area, in which you’re planning to expand your business, there are several things that must be in place. In order to open/start your business in Arizona this things are a must have and HR should see to this immediately. Must Have Employee handbook, Employment agreement, Drug Testing Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, Required Posters, Documentation Retention, and 1-9 Immigration Training, are all things that must be in place.( employmentandthelaw.com/2013) Failure to have these essential business steps and documentation in place can lead to legal ramification and or closing/revoking of operating business license.
The most relevant employment laws Marylee and Clapton Commercial Construction must be concerned about are; Register business, Safety Standard Law, Labor and Wages Laws and Equal employment opportunity.
The First thing Marylee and her team wants to do is Register their Business with the state of AZ. Arizona like most states requires all business to be insured, licensed and bonded. Theses simply three things can stop the business form opening for failure to be in compliance with state laws.( Kaliprasad, M. (2006).
Equal employment opportunity is a rule and regulation for business but especially to Clapton Commercial Construction. OFCCP administers the laws prohibiting discrimination in hiring or employment decisions on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, or national origin by government contractors and subcontractors and federally assisted construction contracts and subcontracts. .( employmentandthelaw.com/2013) Failure to comply
