The GROUPME app was a great collaborative technology, because it allowed the team to engage in distance communication. For the unit 3 proposal assignment, our group decided on the topic of making brownie cookies. Daysha was very influential on the assignment, because not only did she come up with our proposal idea, she has lots of experience, and specializes in baking. On September 27, 2016, CPT Porter, Derek came in for his appointment; however, he did not have his ID card with him. At that moment, I informed him that I could not check him in unless he has his ID card. He replied, “Even if they already know who I am”, I said “yes, even if they know who you are, I cannot check you in without your ID it is protocol”. I proceeded to inform him that if he had another form of identification he can go to medical records and get a promissory note. At which time he became upset and stated he wanted to speak to someone. I immediately, asked Major Stackhouse for assistance, I explained to him the situation and also informed CPT Porter that he had to obtain a promissory note. In addition, Major Stackhouse offered to inform the provider of the situation.…

One of the main focuses of this class was rhetorical situation and analysis and I feel that this was the main area of growth for me throughout the semester. Walking into college and English-103, I only had a very vague idea of what a rhetorical situation even was, now I not only know how to identify it in various works, but also incorporate elements of it into my own essays and papers. In my video critique of the animated film The Ductators, I spend the vast majority of the paper summarizing the film but when I reach the second to last paragraph, I begin to rhetorically analyse the propaganda cartoon. At this point in the year I had already become comfortable with these topics and give examples such as “Apart from a few quick political references,…

Almost every course in college requires you to write an essay about research that you have done in the course, results from an experiment that you conducted in the class, or even an essay about what you have learned over the previous semester. I see myself having to write a lot in my Chemistry 144 class. In that class we will be conducting experiments and then have to write a formal lab report after the experiment. The lab report will require us to write what we did in the experiment, how we did the experiment, what happened during it, and try to explain why we believe something occurred during an experiment. Being an engineering major, I can see myself writing essays on current engineering issues we face today and how I think those issues can be resolved. Writing can be a key part of the problem solving process because if you write out what the issue is it can create an idea of what the solution can…
