see the future so Huck goes and finds Jim right away this was in the movie and the book. Another big difference is that Pap has a hurt leg in the movie however not in the book. When Huck comes home he sees Pap in his room not outside his room. They talk a lot more about Huck’s mom in the movie than they do in the book so you know so of it may be made up to keep the audience's attention.
Pap kidnaps Huck but doesn’t remember getting to the house and what happened at the house just like in the book.
Another similar scene was when Huck is running away he kills a pig and creates a murder scene. Some differences about this scene is that Huck climbs out threw the chiny to get out and in the book he sawed a hole in the wall and he watched Pap witness the scene he created in the book it says that Huck was gone before Pap came home. Huck runs away to Jackson Island and he met Jim there. Pap never got his rehabilitation and Huck has a log not a canoe. They wanted Huck to be properly buried after they found out about his death. What was mainly different with Huck and Jim was that Huck right away knew that it was wrong for Jim to be running away and that he could get in trouble for that. After a while Huck and Jim decided to go and see what was going on in town so Huck dressed like a girl just like the book said but she caught on right away and the dad came home early so Huck and Jim had to run away right away. They never found that floating house so we don’t know where they got the
clothing. They had Pap die on the boat with the robbers which ws different from the book because Jim had brought up right away that if Huck’s Pap was dead that Huck would just go home. When going down the river Huck did find the slave hunters and lied to them about Jim being on the raft. However Huck never got money like they said in the book then they the go right to them meeting the Grangerfords family. They don’t have the dogs find them the people find them and they find Jim and take him in as one of their slaves. Jim gets beat when he is there and that is when Huck sees how badly they are treated. They never go to church so when Sophie runs away it’s in the middle of the day and they changed Buck’s name to Billy in the movie. After the big fights over Jim gets away and starts to head down the river with Huck. The next scene they move to his when they meet the King and the Duke. They don’t show the play that the King and the Duke put on and the shooting of Boggs. When they got to the Wilks house they got off the raft and Jim had to stay on the raft. They went to the bar and got all the information from a man who lived there even the dogs name next door. So then the next day they acted like they had just gotten there and asked where the house was. When they showed up everyone was very curious of them. However one of the sister’s wasn’t happy with Hucks answers. They hid the money in the closet instead of under the bed.
They were going to give the money back but the oldest sister insisted they kept it. Then they were going to move with them to England so they were going to have a big sale to sell everything. Then the real brothers showed up and they had no way of proving themselves just like it said in the book. They decided to dig up the body so they could see if he had the tattoo and who would be right. The King and the Duke got tar dumped on them after all of this went down. When they are about to leave Jim tells Huck that his father has died and that he was on the boat with the robbers. Jim was put in jail when they got to the Wilk’s house after they realized that he wasn’t who he said he was. So when Huck ran away he stole the Sheriff's keys to go get Jim. Then everyone thought about Huck and how he lied to them so they started chasing Huck. They were shooting at Huck and Jim. Huck got shot and so then Jim carried him back to town so he could see a doctor. When they got back to town Jim was going to be hung and Huck was going to die on the ground. Then Maryjane came in and saved them from this wrongdoing. Huck was nurtured back to health and Jim was set free by Miss Watson. Miss Watson died in the movie just like in the book. However Tom never was shown in the movie and the Phelps episode never happened.
In the end of the movie Huck got $500 from the Wilks sisters and he gave it to Jim for his journey. I didn’t like the movie as much as I liked the book. As you can see there was a lot more differences than there we similarities. However they were eunique in there own way and has shown us the fun and crazy times Huck had on his journey. Somethings can change within a movie but they really changed a lot of things from the book. Now it’s your turn to choose if you liked it more than the book.
