Essay 3 Rumor
Final draft
Death Rumor
The president of Venezuela Hugo Cesar Chavez is supposedly dead. On February 25th, 2013 my husband was watching the news when we heard clearly that the president of Venezuela had died 3 days ago. This was not the first time that we heard that news so it was not of a big impact to anyone. Untruth rumors can lead people to disbelieve the truth of what is being said. Many times we hear stories that are true but we do not believe in them just because too many lies are around it.
The rumor started with the cancer disease that he was having around a year ago. Probably one of the people that was not happy with his way of governing the country started saying that he was dead

During the Great Depression, his family lost their farm and moved to California to pay off the debts they had accumulated. In 1942, after graduating the eighth grade, Chavez became a farmworker in his new state. Four years later, he joined the United States Navy where he served for two years ("Cesar Chavez honored with Google doodle"). He learned about the horrid conditions that the workers were facing in the farms and decided to do something about it. Cesar Chavez and the Ufw

I have found it believable that what Cesar Chavez and the UFW's actions were not only for the labor movement for the betterment of civil rights for all laborers not just Mexican Americans. He begins prefacing his commonwealth speech by giving a story about the Bracero farm workers and how they all died on a converted flatbed truck. It seems to be a tactic to touch on the listener's empathy which he then describes the living conditions for many workers. He also goes into the fact that under aged children were qualified workers, which sounds atrocious now that we have so many laws protecting against it. Chavez mentioned that he envisioned a dream where he and probably everyone else would be treated fairly. These few ideas found in his speech already show me that he wasn't just fighting for a labor movement but for the betterment to the way workers were treated as human beings.…

“...We have seen the future and the future is ours.” The famous Cesar Chavez said this during his speech to the Mexican-American in 1984. As people who were mistreated and defenseless against the government and the communities they lived in, Mexicans sought to better their situations by uniting and holding strikes and boycotts, conferences, and participating in speeches. Powerless people can change their fate by coming together and involving themselves in the problem or going out to help themselves or a family.…
