How might you use the strategies for applying creativity to problems and issues in addressing this topic?
The article I found on the university library is, ‘North Korea ramps up war rhetoric: 3
Seoul, South Korea’, by Kim Jin-Hyung for the Tulsa World. For this particular topic I would use the creative strategy process devising or modifying a process or system. The article explains that North Korea government has severed the last communication link or hot line between the two countries because of the recent military drills and sanctions against the country due to the nuclear test by the U.S. –South Korean military (Jin-Hyung 2013). I believe both sides can come together and use the existing process and build a new form of communication since the system has obviously run its course and broken down. Political leaders from all parties involved should come together and …show more content…
use what has worked relatively well in the last half century between the two countries and decide a more effective way of communicating which each other, so tension do not get to the point as they are currently.
How might you use the strategies for promoting curiosity in addressing this topic? Why do you think these strategies might be effective?
The strategies I would use to promote some type of curiosity regarding this topic would use some of the stages in the creative process.
I would first use the approach of searching for challenges regarding this topic and attempt to get to the root cause of the issue. I realize that there are many deep rooted issues between the countries I could probably develop a long list, however, by applying this method I think you could at least provide the biggest challenge or issue and bring that to the table for discussion to start. Another strategy from the creative process that I would promote towards this topic would be to express the problem or issue. I believe that at of the governments involved should all fully express what exactly is the main issue between the nations that has made them feel threaten by each other. I feel that the lack of communication between all parties involved has led to unnecessary reactions from both sides due to certain military posturing and rhetoric that has been thrown at each
side.
How might you use the various methods for producing ideas to eliminate the bias from the original article and still present a factual and persuasive case?
I would the various methods for producing ideas to eliminate any bias from this article by first using the technique of visualizing the solution towards this issue. The issue or problem between North and South Korea has been going for many years and it is easy for someone to have particular opinion towards one side because of the history. By visualizing a solution you will be able to see the root cause of the issue and can hopefully see that there is one common denominator that has led to all of the tension between all sides. I would also use the method of constructing relevant scenarios as to why the issue has come to point of tension that is currently occurring between all parties involved. You can pin point exactly what has happened in regards to North Korea’s nuclear program and how that has forced the UN to implement sanctions towards the country that has led to most of what is going on.
