Personal Response: After seeing Robert Roesch’s piece of art called “Transition” I could not believe how extravagant it truly was. The overall work of art from my perspective is actually inspirational. There are five durable pieces of steel standing side by side, and each piece grows one by one. At the tip of each pole there is a light fixture with a light bulb. This entire work of art just reminds me of college in general. Every pole represents a new beginning and a new year. The colors of each pole mean something too. Basically what Roesch is trying to say is that at first you feel like you’re at the bottom, it is dark and scary but then the year gets brighter because at the top of each piece is a light fixture. Each sculpture gets bigger and brighter each time. That means that each year you will experience hard times and fun times, you just have to pull through and try your best. In the end you’ll grow into a mature adult and be ready for reality. Robert Roesch did a great job at creating this piece because personally, it definitely touched my heart. If someone’s ever on campus and has extra time on their hands they definitely should stop by and check out Transition.
Description: Robert Roesch’s, “Transition” can be described as very peaceful and calming. With a first glimpse of the model you just get blow away at how amazing it actually is. Having to draw the piece isn’t the easiest thing in the world though. It was hard to try and get all of the
